Who Must Apply For Product Registration In Dubai

  • Manufacturers from the area

Food, cosmetics, and other products manufactured in the United Arab Emirates must be registered with the Dubai Municipality. Local manufacturers must request that their products be appropriately registered with the Consumer Products Safety Section. Firm representatives should ensure that their products have gained the necessary approvals before entering the UAE market.

  • Manufacturers from other countries

The importer is responsible for all product registration issues with the Dubai Municipality. Before consignments of such products are brought to Dubai, representatives of overseas producers must take the appropriate steps to ensure that cosmetic products intended for the local market are registered.  The shipment of the unregistered product will only be cleared with a single warning if there is any misbehavior in this area.

How To Do Product Registration In Dubai

  • Create a Business

The product registration in Dubai can be processed by companies based in Dubai or the UAE Free Zones. A legitimate trade license is required of the company. A local company that is doing proper business activity can register its product with the DM.

  • Become a member of the Dubai Municipality.

You’ll need to register with the DM once your company is up and running. The authorities demand certain information regarding the company, such as a trading license, contact information, and an email address, among other things.

  • Submit the Documents That Are Required

To apply for a label assessment of products in your product category, submit the documentation with the DM. After that, you must submit a product sample to CPSS. The Municipality will produce a Label Assessment Report, which includes a product description, once the label has been evaluated.

Let’s look at the third stage in further depth –

  • Submit a Consumer Product Registration in Dubai (CPRE) application and pay the fees.
  • The initial check determines whether the product complies with DM regulations and uploads the appropriate papers.
  • It will be refused if there are any serious remarks. The following are some of the most common comments: no free sale certificate or ingredient report; failed lab test; inconsistent illustration (name, shape, images); banned ingredient / exceeding concentration; the product is not within the scope.
  • If there are only minor issues, the application will be returned back to the customer only once to address the issues. Label requirements; clinical study/scientific evidence request; medical / unaccepted claims; lab test request; additional required document(s)/certificate request are examples of these remarks (s). The product will be registered after everything is in place, and an electronic registration certificate will be generated instantly.
  • It’s important to note that if money is not received within 45 days of submission, the system will automatically terminate the CPRE application.
